Yesterday & Today’s Food Plan

ibuprofen to the rescue

Fortunately the headache I woke up with went away after I took ibuprofen, yeah. I was able to get through my day pretty well but when I got to the pool I was hungry and I had a yogurt & a piece of cheese.  I jumped in the pool and things went well until I started with a sneezing attack – then my head started up and I thought ok I’m out of here.  I went and had a really nice whirlpool and steam bath and shower and voila I felt amazing not to mention I was looking g-o-o-d. :-) Continue Reading…

Listing My Food

I’m listing the food I consumed today – it wasn’t a great today.  Too much starch!! My oven and now my stove top is not working and can’t be fixed. It’s a very cool (retro) Jenn-Air about 40 years old and we can’t get the parts :-( they don’t make them like they use to.  We are going oven shopping tomorrow – I really miss my stove. Tomorrow morning I’m making beefy cabbage soup in the crock pot and fruit salad – back on track with my planning…. with help from my inner guide. Continue Reading…

Writing down my food for the day

Today’s food plan – January 22, 2010

Breakfast (6:30 am): cream of wheat, 1 slices wheat toast w/butter, banana, tea w/ milk

Snack (10 am): Yogurt w/1 c. strawberries/ green grapes

Lunch (12 noon):Roasted chicken breast, mixed veggies, rice, tea w/milk

Snack (3pm):  apple, 1 oz old cheese

Dinner (6 pm):  Beefy Macaroni soup, multigrain roll

Snack (8:30 pm):  orange, handful trail mix

Exercise: Maybe swim – Walk Roxy & Bruce

When I take the few minutes to write down what I’m going to eat it makes a huge difference to how I approach my day food wise

Today’s food plan – January 20, 2010

Breakfast (6:30 am): raisin bran w/milk, 1 slices ezekiel toast w/butter, banana ,  tea w/ milk

Snack (10 am): Yogurt w/1 c. strawberries

Lunch (12 noon):Salad w/ apples/ mixed nuts, w/orange citrus dressing, tea w/milk

Snack (3pm):  apple, 1 oz old cheese

Dinner (6 pm):  Roasted chicken breasts, asparagus, roasted veggies

Snack (8:30 pm):  orange, handful trail mix

Exercise: Walk Roxy & Bruce

Breakfast (6:30 am): 1 fried egg, 2 slices ezekiel toast w/butter ,   tea w/ milk

Snack (10 am): Yogurt w/ 1/2 apple cut up

Lunch (12 noon):Caesar Salad (I didn’t have last night for dinner) tea w/milk

Snack (3pm):  apple, 1 oz old cheese

Dinner (6 pm):  Something in the oven??? Chicken and veggies

Snack (8:30 pm):  orange, handful trailmix

Exercise: Swim, Walk Roxy & Bruce

Today’s food plan – January 18, 2010

Breakfast (6:30 am): Oatmeal w/ maple syrup w.milk , 1 slice ezekiel toast w/butter ,   tea w/ milk

Snack (10 am): Yogurt w/ 1/2 apple cut up

Lunch (12 noon):Left over dinner from Friday night (Steak, potato, mixed veggies) tea w/milk

Snack (3pm):  apple, 1 oz old cheese

Dinner (6 pm):  Caesar salad (didn’t have this – my clients bought me Swiss Chalet – I had chicken breast, greek salad & multigrain roll – (no potato) yeah!!!

Snack (8:30 pm):  orange handful trailmix

Exercise: Walk Roxy & Bruce

Breakfast (6:30 am): Veggie Omlette, 2 slice ezekiel toast w/butter , 1 hash brown   tea w/ milk

Snack (10 am): apple

Lunch (12 noon): trail mix, banana tea w/milk

Snack (3pm): baked apple w/ raisins/milk , 1 oz old cheese

Dinner (6 pm):  roast beef, potatoes, broccoli, carrots and cauliflower

Snack (8:30 pm):  yogurt w/1/2 cup grapes/1/2 apple

Seize the day

Daily life is busy and I go, go, go for the most part without much thought as to my personal goals and dreams. I have been trying to be more present in my day and to take one small action a day in achieving my goals.  One small action can be as simple as writing this blog.  I need a creative outlet and this helps with that.  The idea of really living is simple but not easy for me. Week Two – Weigh In

The Scale

I’ve talked a lot about change this week and my attitude toward the scale is also changing.  I wanted to get on the scale everyday this week, I really, really wanted to – because that was how I use to do it – I wanted to see some kind of change everyday.  The scale for me is part of my disease and that’s why I’m limiting myself to the weekly weigh in and why what the scale says is just a number to measure my progress it isn’t measuring me! No matter what the scale says I’m happy with what I’ve achieved this week.  If I don’t see results I’ll decide if I need to make a change or hold the course. Continue Reading…
